Dishwashing machine
1a. Regular dishwashers: 30g-60g of Chlor Guard per load. Use more product for heavily soiled items or in very hard water areas. Fill the detergent dispenser as required by the dishwasher manufacturer.
1b. Commercial dishwasher: For an average single-tank commercial dishwashing machine, add 1 cup (that’s approximately 200g) of Chlor Guard before your first operation of the machine. Then add approximately 30g of Chlor Guard to the main wash tank after each wash. Alternatively, place 1 cup of Chlor Guard under the rack and replace when only a 1⁄2 cupful remains.
2. Wear gloves. Wearing an apron is also recommended.
3. Scrape, soak and sort dishes. Scrape food and debris into the bin. If heavily soiled, soak separately before washing.
4. Stack and pre-rinse dishes. Stack dirty items into racks as recommended by the manufacturer. Rack dishes on edge, face up and leaning back. Place cups and glasses face downwards. Place cutlery in baskets, handles down.
*Optional pre-rinse: Spray/hose off dirty items prior to placing the rack in the machine. Pre-rinsing loosens dried on deposits and helps keep the wash water cleaner for longer which means cleaner dishes every time.
4. Add detergent, place racks and start the machine. Follow the machine manufacturer’s instructions.
5. Remove clean items and put them away. Wash hands and gloves before removing clean items.
*Beware: Items can be very hot when removing them from the machine.
6. At the end of the wash period clean the machine inside and out then turn off the machine, turn off heaters and open drain valves. Leave open to air dry.
Manual pre-soak
Chlor Guard is also a fantastic manual soaker for greasy pots and pans, cutlery, crockery and cups. Add 30-90g (1-3 scoops) to a sink or bucket full of hot water and allow items to soak for a 1⁄2 hour or more if necessary. Ensure suitable gloves are always worn. Rinse off with hot water before allowing to dry.
Handy hints
• For the best results use in conjunction with Spotless rinse aid.
• Regularly check that the ware washing machine's temperature settings are correct. Prewash 42°C - 50°C, Wash 60°C - 72°C, Power Rinse 72°C - 78°C and Final Rinse 82°C - 88°C.
• Regularly check for obstructions in the wash and rinse nozzles.
• Regularly remove and clean curtains, wash arms, rinse arms and scrap trays.
• Keep the machine free of scale buildup by using Descale Clean and Clear.
• Replace the lid on the container immediately after use.
• For larger machines or where a dispenser is used please consult a technical specialist for advice.
• Always test first in an inconspicuous area before using any cleaning solution. Play it safe, especially when you use a product for the first time. Better to be safe than sorry. Some surfaces can be sensitive to moisture and particular chemical types.
