Rust Daddy is the easy, effective and safe way to remove rust, bore and iron stains from washable hard surfaces. The innovative pH-neutral formula delivers amazing results and unmatched user safety advantages. Unlike many rust removers, Rust Daddy does not contain the potentially lethal Hydrofluoric Acid or any other hazardous chemicals. It complies with recent changes to Australian regulations regarding fluorine and fluoride content in cleaning chemicals. This reduces the potential danger and injuries many cleaning teams have experienced using traditional dangerous competitor rust removers.
Where to use
Rust Daddy eliminates rust, bore and iron-based stains on most hard washable surfaces. Rust Daddy will be your best friend as it even removes those old, stubborn and impossible stains.
Rust Daddy being pH neutral means it is safe to use on most washable hard surfaces from walls to floors to ceilings and anything else in between! It can be used on marble, limestone, travertine, terrazzo, granite, basalt, bluestone, sandstone, quarry tile, slate, porcelain, ceramic, terracotta, concrete, pebblecrete, masonry, vinyl, timber, painted surfaces, stainless steel, natural stone and metal surfaces too! But like always with natural stone and sensitive surfaces, always play it safe and test it out first on the surface.

Stain removal
- Always test first in an inconspicuous area before using any cleaning solution. Play it safe, especially when you use a product for the first time and/or on a surface for the first time. Better to be safe than sorry. Some surfaces can be sensitive to moisture and particular chemical types.
- Remove dust and debris via broom or vacuum.
- Apply undiluted by spray trigger directly and evenly onto the stain.
- Leave for 5 minutes. Watch me turn purple which means I’m eating the stain away. For stubborn stains allow 5-20 minutes of dwell time. Do not allow the surface/product to dry during treatment.
- Feel free to lightly agitate the product to ensure good contact with the stain.
- Remove the solution with damp towelling. For larger areas, you can hose off or use your normal scrub, rinse and vacuum process.
- Allow to dry.
- Repeat or adjust the process if necessary only when the product has been effective on the first try.
Handy tips
- Attend to spots and spills as soon as possible. Fresh spots are significantly easier to remove than leaving them for a long period of time.
- When the product contacts iron, it will go purple. This is normal and it is what you want because it is eating the iron away and working.
- Rust Daddy isn’t going to smell like your flower garden, so avoid smelling it directly in the bottle, it may send you a bit fuzzy. We have tried our best to lessen the smell but just be prepared that it smells like someone has just let rip! But who cares right, as long as you can get rid of that nasty stain that know-one else can!
- For severe stains, you may need to repeat the stain removal process. When you see the purple reaction, you know there is still iron.
Will Rust Daddy remove every stain?
No, not every stain, but it has an incredible stain removal strike rate. During product development XO2 threw it at the worst of the worst stains, and it removed them all.
Why does Rust Daddy turn purple?
When the product contacts iron it goes purple. That's normal, and it's what you want, because it means the product is eating the iron away. If you still see the purple reaction after treating, there's still iron there.
Does Rust Daddy contain hydrofluoric acid?
No. It doesn't contain hydrofluoric acid or any other hazardous chemicals, and it complies with recent changes to Australian regulations regarding fluorine and fluoride content in cleaning chemicals.
Is Rust Daddy safe on marble and natural stone?
It's pH neutral and safe on most washable hard surfaces, including marble, limestone, travertine, terrazzo, granite, sandstone and slate. With natural stone and sensitive surfaces, always test first.
Do I need to dilute Rust Daddy?
No. Rust Daddy is ready to use, so do not dilute it.
Do I need to scrub Rust Daddy?
No scrubbing is required, though you can lightly agitate the product to make sure it's in good contact with the stain.
How long do I leave Rust Daddy on the surface?
Leave it for 5 minutes. For stubborn stains, allow 5 to 20 minutes of dwell time, and don't let the surface or product dry during treatment.
Can I use Rust Daddy on carpet, upholstery or rugs?
XO2 recommends a specialty carpet stain removal product and/or machine for stains on carpet, upholstery, rugs and textiles. Rust Daddy is not ideal for this application because the Rust Daddy residue would be hard to remove without the correct extraction system.
What does Rust Daddy smell like?
It has a strong smell and won't smell like your flower garden. Avoid smelling it directly from the bottle. XO2 has tried to lessen the smell as much as possible.
Is Rust Daddy safe around pets?
Yes. It's pet friendly if used as directed.
Is Rust Daddy septic-safe?
Yes, it's septic-safe.
What if the stain is still there after one go of Rust Daddy?
For severe stains, repeat the stain removal process. Only repeat or adjust the process when the product has been partly effective on the first try.
